York GLASA

Mission statement

GLASA provides linguistics and applied linguistics graduate students a variety of academic learning and social experiences throughout the academic year. These activities aim to foster academic community formation as well as to support students' ongoing development of academic skills, knowledge, participation in the linguistics and applied linguistics academic fields and awareness of current academic issues. Above all, GLASA supports the interdisciplinary knowledge sharing between the two fields among graduate students.

Vision

We see the future of GLASA as being an organization that works alongside the department and faculty to encourage the pursuit of academia among LAL graduate students. This will foster deeper learning and engagement in the field and lead to increased opportunities for students as well as an increase in the growth potential of GLASA as a student association.
